DPM, short for DPM (Thailand) Co., Ltd., is ready to share its exciting journey with you!
Share a brief history of DPM and its journey so far
DPM started in 2015 with the aim of building a business and partner ecosystem for an application performance monitoring software called Dynatrace (formerly Compuware). Over the past 10 years, we have worked with various banks, insurance companies, retailers, and government bodies. Our business has grown from a few thousand dollars to multi-millions, and our team has expanded from the original two co-founders to nearly 30 employees.
Through our experience with multiple enterprises, we’ve learned that relying on a single software solution cannot address all the digital transformation challenges they face. As a result, we have broadened our scope to include multiple integrated products and invested heavily in our technical expertise. This allows us to support enterprises not only in Thailand but also across ASEAN and beyond.
What approach did you take in selecting the vendors to partner with for your solutions?
During our efforts to broaden our solution scope, we always keep in mind that enterprises already have a multitude of tools in their inventory, such as DevOps, CRM, Data Analytics, Cyber Security, and more. We aim to avoid adding more software to their environment, which not only increases costs but also demands additional time and effort to manage and support.
Instead, we have chosen to focus on a specific framework known as the “Digital Immune System” or “DIS” for short. Defined by Gartner in 2023 as a strategic technology, DIS is designed to reduce business risks, enhance reliability, and enable rapid recovery from failures or incidents.
In our intensive process of selecting vendor solutions to partner with, we have assembled a core team of experts and experienced engineers from various fields to evaluate technology vendors. A key criterion for our selection is that the software must be open to integration with other tools—whether through out-of-the-box solutions or by allowing our team to build and implement integrations easily and seamlessly.
Our goal is to create a set of tools and processes that address a broad range of use cases, not just specific scenarios for one software. By integrating multiple solutions, we can offer more automated and expansive use cases for enterprises, delivering greater value while reducing their effort and time spent.
What are the distinctive points that make DPM different from other players in the Thai market and abroad ?
With over 20 years of experience, I've observed that only a handful of Thai tech companies have successfully expanded beyond our borders. Factors such as language and cultural differences often hinder Thai companies from venturing outside Thailand, leading many to view our country as a comfort zone. However, recent years have seen large IT players from India, Singapore, and Vietnam making significant inroads into our market, and they have been quite successful.
At DPM, we recognize this shift and are committed to transforming ourselves to expand beyond Thailand. Instead of merely reacting to external competition, we are proactively positioning ourselves to compete on a regional and global scale.
DPM operates in a unique space with few competitors. We are determined to excel in our field and are confident in our ability to compete effectively throughout the region and beyond.
How do you see DPM's business picture in the next 5 years?
It’s extremely challenging to predict the IT industry landscape even just two years into the future, let alone five years. Given the rapid pace of change in technology, projecting that far ahead can be quite difficult. However, to thrive in such a dynamic market, DPM understands that continuous transformation is essential. We recognize that adapting and evolving repeatedly over the next five years is crucial for our survival and growth.
Looking ahead, I envision DPM becoming a major international IT player in ASEAN. We aim to collaborate with hundreds of enterprises across the region and build a strong, cohesive team that spans multiple countries. Our goal is to assist our clients in achieving successful digital transformations and establishing ourselves as a key player in the international IT arena.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Satit Auputtinun, CTO of DPM (Thailand) Co., Ltd., for taking the time to share insights about DPM's growth and direction.
